Online Supermarket Ocado creates more than 300 new jobs in Merseyside
Opportunities for delivery drivers
New site will power the next stage of Ocado’s growth as more and more people shop online for groceries
Online supermarket Ocado will open a new 20,000 square foot delivery hub on Knowsley Industrial Park this November, creating 300 new jobs in the region. The retailer’s dramatic expansion across the North West has fuelled the development of the new site which will soon be home to 120 brightly coloured vans.
Ocado is now on the hunt for super friendly drivers to deliver shopping into customers’ homes seven days a week. Candidates can be from all walks of life and backgrounds, but they must hold a UK driving licence and share our passion for delivering award winning customer service. Successful applicants will enjoy great benefits and a rewarding role that offers so much more than a straightforward driving job. Visit www.ocado.com/careers to apply.
Julie Markey, Director of HR at Ocado said, “In just a few short years Ocado has grown from a tiny start-up to a company that employs over 7,000 people and we’re delighted to announce the creation of 300 new jobs in Merseyside as we continue to develop our business in the North West of England.
Recruiting brilliant drivers is critical to our success as they are the face of our brand, delivering groceries into thousands of our customer’s kitchens every day. People can shape their own future; in fact many drivers who joined our team last year have already developed into managerial, marshalling or training roles.”
Salaries at all levels are highly competitive, with premium rates paid for evening and weekend shifts, plus 15% staff discount, and additional benefits including pension schemes, free shares and private healthcare.
