Online supermarket Ocado surprises local Merseyside hero for Mother’s Day
Una Hagerty, a mum from Merseyside, enjoyed a Mother’s Day gift with a difference this year when she was treated to a special surprise delivery from Ocado. Along with her weekly shop, the driver was accompanied by a professional beautician who treated Una to a special pampering session and bag full of luxurious beauty goodies sold through the retailer. Una was named one of six Ocado Beauty Queens as part of the online supermarket’s Mother’s Day initiative which searched the UK for deserving mums to be rewarded and pampered.
Caring for her elderly mother and disabled daughter, Una was nominated as an Ocado Beauty Queen by her daughter Aisha. Aisha reveals that her mother is always there for her, her younger brother and her disabled sister and that she deserves so much more than any of them can give her.
Una has faced many challenges, her other daughter is disabled and Una has to take her to all of her hospital treatments. Despite this, Una remains the rock of her family, putting all of her children’s needs before her own and continuing to work full time.
Jason Gissing, Ocado Co-Founder commented:
Mother’s Day is always busy for my family - my four children and I know it’s an important day to celebrate. We wanted to deliver deserving mums a Beautician for a special Mother’s Day beauty treat the Ocado way – exactly what they needed, courtesy of our award-winning service.”
