HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE WINESHOP

HARVEY NICHOLS Champagne Brut Rosé 1er Cru NV (750ml), £34.00 at ocado.com

Utilising a greater proportion of Pinot Noir in the blend, along with an addition of specially selected reserve red wine, the Premier Cru Rosé possesses the same richness and roundness as its Brut counterpart, but with a greater concentration of red fruit, spice and floral notes. On the palate, raspberry, strawberry and violet flavours complement the toasty, bready undertones, whilst the finish is refreshingly crisp with an attractive tangy, cranberry twist. Delicious on its own or try it with fruit based dessert dishes.

HARVEY NICHOLS Prosecco NV (750ml), £16.00 at ocado.com

Recently promoted to the dizzy heights of DOCG, Prosecco di Valdobbiadene is now firmly established as one of the world’s most dynamic and exciting sparkling wines. Harvey Nichol’s premium own label, produced by the excellent Sorelle Bronca estate, combines Prosecco’s hallmark fruit and frivolity whilst delivering a seldom encountered complexity and finesse. Fabulously fruity, it is bursting with flavours of pear, red apple and ripe peach all set against a subtle mineral charged backdrop. Focused and crisp on the finish, this is delicious to drink either on its own or with light canapé style nibbles.

HARVEY NICHOLS Pinot Noir 2014 (750ml), £19.95 at ocado.com

Blended from grapes hand-harvested within four different climate sites around Marlborough’s Wairau Valley, Harvey Nichols 2014 Pinot Noir is matured for ten months in new and seasoned French barriques before being bottled under screwcap to preserve freshness, flavour and integrity. Aromas of red cherry and cranberry complement hints of savoury spices which lead to a compote of summer berry flavours, whilst suggestions of charred oak are supported with fine, silky tannins. Immediately approachable, this wine should improve over the next two to three years and is best partnered with game, duck or fish dishes such as salmon or tuna.

HARVEY NICHOLS Damson Gin, £18.50 at ocado.com

Harvey Nichols Damson Gin is made in a traditional method, in small batches, by blending hand-picked British damsons and premium quality gin. This slow-matured, exceptionally smooth and intensely fruity damson gin is delicious to drink on its own, paired with tonic water or, alternatively, mixed with ginger ale for a refreshing damson mule.

HARVEY NICHOLS Harvey Nichols Pecorino 2015 (750ml), £13.00 at ocado.com

Grown at altitude, this recently rediscovered low-yielding Harvey Nichols Pecorino 15 has been rescued from extinction by a dedicated group of local winemakers. Made exclusively from fruit grown at the estate’s organic vineyard, the grapes are hand-harvested and naturally fermented in medium-sized oak barrels, with an additional six months resting on the lees to impart rich complexity and texture to the wine.
