September 28, 2017

Abbazia Fiorino Prosecco D.O.C. judged as being worth more than double actual price

Abbazia Fiorino Prosecco d.o.c. has been named as the best value sparkling wine at leading online supermarket Ocado by money bloggers and personal finance journalists, as part of a blind taste test at the UK Money Bloggers conference in London on Saturday 23 September 2017.

The Prosecco, stocked exclusively at ocado.com, was estimated on average to be worth £14.14 – more than double its offer price of £6.99 – and was ranked in first place based on taste. A quarter of those that took part valued the Prosecco at £15 or more, demonstrating the sheer level of value that customers are receiving when they place an order for this particular product.

Four out of the five wines tested by the guests were estimated to cost more than their retail price at Ocado. The Castellblanc Cava Brut and Castellblanc Rosado Seco Cava were both predicted to be worth almost double their retail price, while the Calvet Crémant Bordeaux Brut was valued at 25 per cent more.

There are currently a host of offers available at Ocado on many of its sparkling wines, with up to 50 per cent reductions on certain bottles, such as the Charles Lafitte Champagne Grande Cuvée Brut, which is currently just £17.99. The Ocado sparkling wine sale runs until Tuesday 3rd October 2017 – perfect for wine lovers to start stocking up for Christmas.

Julian Twaites, Buying Manager for Wine at Ocado, comments: “We’re always looking to provide our customers with the best range of great value sparkling wines, and we’re proud to stock more varieties than any other UK supermarket.
