Code for Life, a not-for-profit, free coding and teaching resource from Ocado Group, has now received over 650,000 registrations, supporting students in learning coding skills globally.

As part of Ocado Group’s ‘People and Skills for the Future’ sustainability initiative, Code for Life provides tools that empower everyone to shape technology. Since its inception in 2014, Ocado Group's dedicated team, with the support of volunteers, have built engaging games, created lesson plans and resources, onboarded teachers and learners, delivered career talks and attended career fairs and events - inspiring the next generation of technologists.

Over 15,000 schools have registered for the initiative globally, with the user base expanding 20% in 2023.

Recent collaborations with Barclays, Barefoot Computing, BCS (The Chartered Institute for IT), and CS in Schools have expanded resources and global reach. And through our external collaborator initiative, we’ve expanded our reach to talented young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and university students working on live industry projects.

With Ocado Group’s Code for Life initiative, we are steadfast in our mission to empower educators and students with the resources they need to develop crucial coding skills for the future. I’m proud of the initiative's work to break down stereotypes - making coding accessible to more people in an increasingly digital world.”
